Each pot comes with a cover lid and weight stones.
The lid fits exactly into the typical deep gutter (it needs to be filled with water), which ensures the airtight seal of the pickled vegetables. This prevents the unpleasant formation of yeast and the lactic acid can develop its full preservative capacity.
The two-part weighting stone ensures that the vegetables are always covered with enough liquid and creates the right pressure that is necessary for fermentation.
